【Tofu and fava beans】

I love this tofu dish. The fava beans make this dish very unique, what a healthy combination.

酱汁豆腐蚕豆F1 Tofu and fava beans 酱汁豆腐蚕豆

Serves: 6 servings

Ingredients:

1) 1 package tofu 700g;
2) 350g shells removed fava beans;
3) 1.5 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic, 1.5 tbsp freshly chopped green onion, 2 tsp freshly minced ginger;
4) 1 tbsp cooking wine, 1/2 tsp salt, 2tbsp light soy sauce, 1.5 tbsp dark soy sauce, ¼ tsp chicken broth mix, 1 tsp sugar, 2 tbsp water;
5) 1 tsp sesame oil.

Directions:

1: Cut each piece of tofu into three equal portions, and diagonally cut into two triangles. Heat 1.5 tbsp olive oil in a non-stick sauté pan over high heat. Arrange tofu pieces in the pan (Picture 1), cook until golden brown on both sides (Picture 2). Take out tofu pieces and set aside.
2: Same non-stick sauté pan on high heat, add 0.5 tbsp oil and sauté minced garlic, chopped green onion and minced ginger for 30 seconds (Picture 3). Add rinsed fava beans, stir and cook for a minute (Picture 4).

3: Put back in previous cooked tofu pieces(Picture 5), add all ingredients of Ingredient 4) (Picture 6), cook for a few minutes until sauce thickened and fava beans soft.
4: Add 1 tsp sesame oil, stir to mix then transfer to a serving plate. Serve with some steamed rice.
